Cool Schools and Analy High School AP Statistics Class honored At their annual recognition dinner earlier this year, the Sonoma County Conservation Council and the Sierra Club honored the Campaign’s Cool Schools program and the Analy High School AP Statistics Class as the Outstanding Environmental Project of the Year. Jessica Kellett, Cool Schools Coordinator, worked with the AP Statistics class to produce a student commute survey, a community forum, and a communitywide coalition to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase the number of students biking, walking, carpooling, and busing to school. The positive and plentiful press coverage of the students’ work inspired similar projects currently underway in three more high schools - Rancho Cotati, Windsor, Casa Grande. Another Cool School’s project with Windsor High School, involves tree planting and education about sustainable development, is featured on the Town of Windsor’s website.
