Climate Protection Campaign: Climate Smart

Climate Smart helps PG&E customers make their energy use "climate neutral.

Through its new ClimateSmart program, PG&E offers customers a way to balance out the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their energy use by investing in environmental project that absorb or reduce greenhouse gases, like preserving California forests. Thousands of customers have already joined so their energy use is “climate neutral.”

While conservation, efficiency, and switching to renewables are more cost-effective than offsets like ClimateSmart, such measures are not mutually exclusive; all have merit.

The Climate Protection Campaign signed up for ClimateSmart, and Ann Hancock, Campaign Executive Director, is a member of the ClimateSmart External Advisory Committee.
